Leica Q2 and The Art of Las Vegas During COVID

There are not many people out and about in the sections of Las Vegas that draw tourists.  A walk down the streets of downtown have been relative ghost towns with the only people being visible are the city crews that are repairing streets, and restaurant workers who have been making modifications.

Recenty an article was read about the concept on “One Camera One Lens.”  I thought it might be worthwhile to accept that as a challenge and  do a deep dive into the old downtown of Las Vegas with the Leica Q2, a system that continually amazes me as I relearn manual photography using various aperatures, shutter speeds, and focus systems of manual and automatic.  It’s challenging to select an F stop while composing full frame in the view finder.

Photography is therapeutic for many, myself included.

I invite you to come on a virtual walking tour with me to various sections of downtown Las Vegas, a place that has intrigued and inspired my making of photographs.

There are so many wonderful benefits from photography, like getting up each morning at 5 am and walking through various sections of Las Vegas.  Early morning light is wonderful as well as the discoveries of beautiful architecture, quaint sections of town, and of course the people.  Not many out and about walking, although there are many who are without homes.  The town is very clean and law enforcement has a definite presence.  I love discovering what this town has to offer, and I thought I knew…but there is so much more!
